According to AutoBild, Volkswagen will introduce facelift model of current, 7th generation Golf in 2016, while 2018 will be ready and the 8th generation of the hatchback from Wolfsburg. The offer will also feature the Golf GTI, which is expected to arrive in 2019. AutoBild says the German brand will offer to customers three versions of the popular hot hatch.
The first is GTI Classic with 261 hp (195 kW), the second is GTI Performance with 295 hp (220 kW) and the GTI Club Sport with 322 hp (240 kW). Also, there could be and Golf GTI Plug-in Hybrid, which in addition to petrol engine will feature and electric motor with 109 hp and a more powerful all-wheel drive model with huge 395 hp (294 kW).
