Mazda 2 Sedan or 4 Door version is available now in Malaysia. While still waiting for the official launch, the car is actually in most of the Mazda showrooms. Mazda 2 sedan it’s only available in few country such as China,Thailand and Malaysia and others. If i am not wrong, even in Japan there’s only Mazda 2 Hatchback known as Mazda Demio over there.
[singlepic id=638 w=630 h= float=center]Mazda 2 Sedan share the same front fascia as the Mazda 2 Hatchback. China was the 1st market that has the Mazda 2 sedan model. That was my 1st time to see Mazda 2 on the road when i went to Guang Zhou last year and it was the pre-facelift version. The New Mazda 2 Sedan we are having here is a facelifted version built in Thailand.
The car model we are reviewing here it’s a Mazda 2 sedan R-Spec ( High Spec) with Sparkling Gold Mica as colour.

[singlepic id=660 w=630 h= float=center]The most significant difference when you compare a Mazda 2 Hatchback and Mazda 2 sedan is of course the rear of the car. From the rear we can see Mazda 2 sedan has inherited designs from his closest sibling – The Mazda 3 Sedan. With the 3rd brake light position on the top center of the boot and the similar shape of the tail lights.

Mazda 2 Sedan edition is mainly targets market that feel sedan cars are more partical. The Mazda 2 sedan has been design to have a big luggage capacity of 450 Litre. That’s 200 litres more than the Mazda 2 hatckback.
[singlepic id=671 w=630 h= float=center]The Mazda 2 sedan is powered by the same engine which found in the hatckback which is MZR 1.5 inline,4-cylinder,DOHC 16 valve engine which produces 103hp at 6000 rpm and 135Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. This engines recommended fuel is RON 95 and above.
[singlepic id=668 w=630 h= float=center]Similar to Mazda 2 hatchback, Mazda 2 sedan has front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. As per today, Mazda 2 Sedan or hatckback comes in 2 specs – Mazda 2 V-Spec and Mazda 2 R-Spec, R-Spec as higher specs. We also got to find out that all Mazda 2 R-Spec’s suspension are tuned to a more sporty mode for better handling. All Mazda 2 are equipped with front MacPherson Strut suspension pair with Rear Torsion Beam suspension type.
[singlepic id=672 w=630 h= float=center]There was some complaints on Mazda 2 not having EBD as standard feature as for the Malaysia after we post our review on the Mazda 2 Hatchback. Maybe, Bermaz thinks Anti-lock braking System(ABS) is sufficient. However something worth mentioning is, Mazda 2 has front sensor. Yes, front sensor mainly for parking assist.

[singlepic id=646 w=630 h= float=center]Mazda 2 sedan or hatchback is equipped with fabric seats. The leg room of the rear seats of Mazda 2 sedan it’s almost similar to the hatchback version.

[singlepic id=650 w=630 h= float=center]The audio system of the Mazda 2 sedan it’s also same with the Mazda 2 hatchback. Standard CD AM/FM with MP3 capability, and to confirm this – Yes is single disc. As we can see the the picture the Air-condition controls are manually operated.

[singlepic id=651 w=630 h= float=center]The Mazda 2 sedan does not come with bodykits even for the higher spec. Bodykit only available in Mazda 2 hatchback.
[singlepic id=691 w=630 h= float=center]There were many people when we visit to showroom that day. As we thought most of the people would go for the Mazda 2 sedan version, however there are many who is interested with the Mazda 2 hatchback instead.
The Mazda 2 V Spec Sedan (lower spec) goes for RM79,859.50 on the road with insurance, while Mazda 2 R Spec sedan (higher spec)goes for RM82,937.50 with a 3 Year / 100,000Km warranty. As mentioned, this pricing here it’s on a special introductory price for the first 500 unit.
