Audi has revealed the R8 GT. The most extreme version of its four-wheel-drive supercar yet from Ingolstadt will be produced in a exclusive limited to 333 units. The Audi R8 GT cost $255,000 (Euro 193,000) per unit.
The car is design and built on R8 V10 Coupe with weight reduction. The Audi engineers have managed to cut 100kg of weight of R8 by changing rear spoiler and by substitution of rear hatch, rear spoiler and side blades with lightweight elements made by reinforced plastic with carbon fibre. As results, the total weight of the Audi R8 GT left 1,525kg.
The exterior changes are worthy of a performance version of a sports model and include a front grille colour matte black, a carbon fibre rear splitter mounted under the bumper, side blades which receive the same treatment matte black and 19-inch wheels in exclusive five twin-spoke Y design in a titanium-look finish with tyres size of 235/35 front and 295/30 on the back.
Comparing the R8 GT and conventional R8, the engine is special. While talking about the same V10 5.2-liter engine available with Quattro traction, the German engineering have modified the central unit parameters to go from 525 to 560 HP, the torque of R8 GT now reaching at 398 lb-ft/6500 rpm. In these conditions, the R8 GT reaches from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and the maximum speed is 320km/h.
