Effective by 2011, you can enjoy watching the F1 actions in true high definition (1080i resolution) on television coverage. However, there is a chance that your local pay-tv provider or national television broadcaster still airing the scaled-down version of the feed. But I believe that Astro’ will be airing HD for their HD package subscribers.
According to Autosport, F1 organizers have been toying with the notion of delivering an HD feed for some time. This winter, Formula One Management (FOM) began testing brand-new equipment to ensure that broadcasts could be made at a high quality rate of 42MB of data per second. All trackside cameras will be full HD, but due to the technical complexity of on-board cameras these will remain upscaled standard definition cameras for now.
