Scion FR-S Concept – another Toyota FT-86 rendition

You might recall the Toyota FT-86 Concept and Toyota FT-86 Concept II by looking at this image.  While we are still waiting eagerly waiting for the Toyota FT-86  to hit production. A Toyota franchise company – Scion has come out their own version of FT-86 naming it Scion FR-S . FR-S in Scion language means front engine, rear wheel drive , sport.

As all the version of the FT-86 like the Scion FR-S pays tribute of the legendary Toyota Corolla AE-86, it is expected to be light weight, and superb balance without the need to high pure horsepower. To remind you, the FT-86 in this case Scion FR-S will feature a natural aspirated 2.0 liter Boxer engine by Subaru. Not to mention yet if there’s a Sti version coming along.

The FR-S Concept is fitted with 20″ wheels with a huge 18″ carbon ceramic brake rotors. Everything looks too good to be true, as norm do expect a much toned down version when FR-S hits stores.  Earlier we  reported that Toyota filed trade mark for the name FR-S in US and Canada. We won’t be surprise if Toyota would sell the FT-86 as Scion FR-S in these 2 countries.

The Scion FR-S probably is the sexiest version of the FT-86 concept we seen so far, enjoy the gallery and video below.
