Hyundai have introduce a mild facelift model for 2012 Hyundai Sonata at their home ground in South Korea.
Frankly, it will be a little bit of challenge to spot the differences if you are not big fans of Hyundai cars. Anyway, we found some visible changes like a revised front grille with less chrome surface, a new LED rear combi-tail lights, and a new 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Based on the new Korean catalogue, it looks like there will be new trim options, rear view mirror with camera, Eco button, LED spotlights on the door handle, and upgraded standard equipment throughout the range.
In terms of technical specification, Sonata continues with the 165PS 2.0-litre 4-cylinder GDI engine mated with a manual gearbox or an automatic transmission, for the 2012MY, Hyundai replaced the 2.4-litre engine with a more powerful 271PS 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Turbo GDI engine mated with an automatic transmission.
We are unsure whether the same revision will be updated for all market of the Sonata. But if there is any facelift to the Sonata YF, the revisions should be similar.
