Recently, we received many emails from our readers regarding the import ban of used car parts and components from the 1st of June 2011 in Malaysia.
After our research and findings with the local authority and used parts importers, we learned that the first items to be phased out will be brake linings, brake pads, tyres and batteries. Not much to worry as those 4 items that banned are strictly not recommended to opt as used parts. Going forward, the Malaysia government will continue to consult with industry players and relevant government agencies to decide on the timing and items to be included in the next phase of banning.
Hopefully, the body parts, electronic parts, engines and transmissions will remain in supply for long term.
