Due to the massive floods in Thailand, many production outputs had been disrupted. This tragedy have causes a supply shortage of auto parts worldwide including North America and Japan.

Toyota has recently announced to resume its production at Thai plant on November 21, 2011, the production halted since October 10, 2011 because of the severe floods.
As of November 12, 2012, Toyota claimed that the massive floods in Thailand cost 150,000 vehicles in lost production, approximately 90,000 of that in Thailand, and 40,000 in Japan.
