The new Volkswagen Touareg TDI (Turbocharged Direct Injection) is now in our shores for the premium SUV segment. The Veedub Touareg is suitable for both on road and off road usage. The Touareg comprises the elements of performance, durability and comfort. This Touareg TDI positioned as an alternative for drivers that like to go on long distance road trips. It is able to achieve the fuel efficiency of 7.2 litres per 100 km.

The 3.0-litre V6 TDI (Turbocharged Direct Injection) pump out 254PS and a whooping 550Nm of torque between just 1,750rpm and 2,750rpm. This enables the VW Touareg TDI to sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 220 km/h. The turbo diesel engine mated with a 8 speed automatic gearbox, which enables good performance and good fuel economy. In addition, Volkswagen Group Malaysia claimed the model is capable to achieve 1,170km with one full tank of diesel fuel, even based on Malaysia’s Euro 2M diesel. The TDI engine also claims to be 25% more fuel efficient compared to petrol engines in its class.

The interior of Volkswagen Touareg is premium and solid like most of the Volkswagen vehicles. With full leather seats, electronic adjustable seats positions, push start button and navigation & audio system. The good quality material are seen to be used in the buttons, dials, dashboards and steering wheel. The VW Touareg also comes with a premium sound system from “Dynaudio”.

The renowned Challenge4 adventurer Mr Rainer Zietlow was present during the launch and shared his experience with his Volkswagen Touareg TDI breaking some world records. In his expedition, Mr Zietlow and his team recently completed a world-record breaking feat of driving 23,000km from Melbourne, Australia to St Petersburg, Russia in just over 17 days with the standard Volkswagen Touareg TDI with minor modification such as the fuel tank capacity and etc.
