Honda Announces The All-New Honda Odyssey at KLIMS 2013. Priced from RM228k

Honda Malaysia has unveiled the new 2013 Honda Odyssey at KLIMS 2013. The new Odyssey was recently launched in Japan 2 weeks ago and it is now at our shores! The Honda Odyssey will be available in 2 variants – the EXV and EX. The Honda Odyssey EX will be priced at RM228,000 while the EXV model will go for RM248,000.

The new Honda Odyssey is powered by the newly developed 2.4L DOHC i-VTEC Earth Dreams Technology engine which produces 175PS and 225NM. The Odyssey is also fitted with a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox. The powertrain offers even better output, torque and fuel efficiency than the engine of the previous model. The new Odyssey also features the ECON mode that ensures fuel-efficient driving with cooperative control while coaching functions changes from white to green indicating economical driving.

Both the EX and EXV variants features the standard features which includes cruise control, paddle shift, 7” unique display audio, second-row premium Captain Cradle Seats with Ottoman. The higher grade variant – EXV will get the Front independent and Rear auto air conditioning while the EX will only feature a front auto air conditioning and rear vents.

Interior differences between the both variants are the interior trim. The lower grade variant EX will only have ivory colored interior and fabric seats while the EXV will have a black interior with leather seating.

The New Odyssey features a new “Ultra-Low Floor Platform”, which creates a spacious cabin equivalent to a large class MPV. The ceiling is made to be higher and the floor is lower, this provides roomier space in the interior. On the second row seats, Honda has packed in a cradle seat with Ottoman which provides extra comfort t0 occupants.

Both the variants of the Odyssey comes with 17-inch Alloy Rims with 215/55 series tyres. Safety wise, Honda has added several advance safety features to offer customers a peace of mind. Its Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure meets both self- protection and damage reduction to other drivers. The All-New Odyssey is equipped with 6- Airbags that consist of Dual Front i-SRS Airbags and i-SRS Side Airbags in the first row and Side Curtain Airbags up until the third row seats. This upper MPV prioritises safety for everyone with G-Force Control (G-CON). Besides that, Honda also offers another Honda’s first in safety while driving – Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Monitor (CTA). The Blind Spot Information alerts the driver with a beeping sound should he/she not be aware of a vehicle that is in the blind spot when he/she wants to turn. The CTA gives off a warning whistle when a collision with a cross-approaching vehicle is predicted while backing up the MPV.
